What does it cost?

In most cases, the mediation itself lasts for one day only. The mediator will need to prepare by reading the background papers and speaking with both parties. All in all, the fee for undertaking the role of the mediator is generally between 1½ and 2 days. Unlike other mediators who may charge a fee based on the value of the claim, our fees are always time related and therefore, however complex the dispute, you are only charged for actual time incurred.

You will of course need to consider other costs associated with mediation including the cost of the venue, subsistence and refreshments and of course, whether solicitors will be in attendance. The cost of the mediator and venue is usually shared equally between the parties to the dispute.
