Malling Health -
NHS client list goes from strength to strength

Our NHS - Our FutureFollowing on from recent NHS contract wins, we are delighted to announce that we are working with Malling Health to aid with their set up of 16 (and counting!) GP led health centres around the country. Malling Health started life providing primary care services tracing right back to the inception of the NHS in 1948, and they believe that even today they continue to innovate in the services they offer, by using modern technologies to enhance patient access. These new GP-led health centres will be open seven days a week from eight in the morning until eight in the evening, offering extra GP services and are there to essentially complement the services provided by other local GP’s - they came into existence following a review of equitable access to primary care by Lord Darzi. Our role is very much around project managing a safe & secure implementation of each individual clinic, liaising with the PCT’s, ensuring successful procurement of required surgery fixtures, outsourcing of legal, HR, Marketing & Design and IM&T (Information Management and Technology) service both during implementation and following service commencement. Most importantly ensuring that when in place, the clinics offer an outstanding patient experience. This is a great move for Cameron Consulting and utilises Karen’s previous experience of the NHS while working for a large pharmaceutical company.

Greenwich Council -
Developing an Integrated Supply Chain

Greenwich CouncilGreenwich Council have now appointed a number of supply chain specialists at the second tier level to work with first tier contractors in the delivery of a major capital works programme following a lengthy tender process including supplier selection via the European Union. The selected specialists will be involved in supplying components such as kitchens, boilers, windows, doors and roofing materials. In our continued role with Greenwich Council, we are now involved in integrating the specialists into the current partnering arrangements in place between capital and revenue contractors. Initially this will entail a series of workshops and meetings, aimed at integrating the team. The entire selection process has been designed adopting the Strategic Forum’s Integrated Toolkit. The development of this toolkit was initially funded by Constructing Excellence and has been used in the initial procurement strategy through to supplier selection and appointment. This followed a 7 step process as follows:-

1 Identify and rank product and service procurement needs
2 Evaluate spend for product and service groups
3 Define the risk associated with each product or service
4 Development of procurement strategy
5 Tendering and supplier selection
6 Working together - Workshops
7 Analysis of supplier/customer relationships

We are now at Step 6 of the process and are excited by the prospect of supplier engagement in the delivery of the remainder of the capital programme.
